arlington this morning produced an osprey (which was also seen perched on the deck in a ploughed field), grey plover, blue headed wag and stacks of hirundines. a hobby and 6 greenshanks were on lewes brooks, a dead male sparrowhawk (road kill) was at newhaven along with a fine male whinchat. in the cuckmere were a few groups of barwits, 30 dunlin on the meanders and loads of hirundines which were just everywhere and a joy to watch. plenty of migrants around everywhere today. also a pair of egyptian geese with some chicks at litlington.
